Multiple Cardiac Rupture following Impact Deceleration in a Aircraft Accident. (A Case Report)

Abstract
This twenty six years old ROKAF pilot expired of crash injury due probably to channelized vision, during shooting exercise with F-86D. The accident resulted in an 18¨¬ 30¢¥ degree impact at 360 knots with the nose down, mushing, into ground. At autopsy multiple fractures are observed skull cervical vertebrae, ribs and extremities. Among visceral rupture heart and aorta showed particularly remarkable changes. Four cardiac chambers are ruptured anteriorly revealing frayed myocardium that suggests the cause being intracardiac hemodynamic force at the moment of abrupt deceleration. Besides papillary muscles and chorda tendinae are irregulary torn.
